Superman  ( voor Madelein )

I’m watching raindrops on the glass

it’s pouring so there are quite a few

All morning long

They’re filled with beauty

Sunlit raindrops fastened to the glass

Heartshaped

Chickenshaped

Formed like stone

Like a small island

Or a full-bodied tear, slimming down by crying

Resolving

Into infinity

Into a see-through carpet

Spoiled with mirror-rhinestones

Enlightened by the sun

Danced upon by a little princess

Her eyes locked in mine while she keeps on dancing

She’s such a joy to see

Her face in silent seclusion

Focusing on mine

She dances with startling movements

As if she’s falling, lifted up again

before touching the ground

Released with a shock into each new motion

She dances a string of

marvellous falling movements

Drawn in the sky like the misty tracks

of an airplane

A small boy enters the room

he seduces my princesses eyes

As he sits down on his red kited chair

When their eyes meet

her hands reach out for him

And they dance their dance of lifts and fallings

Together

The  room filled with spirals circles up and down traces of vapour

Released by their dancing

They look at me

My boy smiles: “dad, I’m superman”
